PUPIL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME - SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL)

Mission

We want to reach every child's heart so that they can become children with good character and integrity.

4 ‘Pillars' of Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

SEL is an umbrella term that refers to the acquisition of skills to recognise and manage emotions, develop care and concern for others, make responsible decisions, establish positive relationships, and handle challenging situations effectively. These skills and habits will enable pupils to do well in their personal life, citizenship, character and academic achievements.

In Ngee Ann Primary School, there are 4 'pillars' to support SEL. Each plays a pertinent role to teach our pupils positive values which are important in driving behaviour and guiding actions.

  • Character Education
  • Leadership Development
  • Community Involvement Programme
  • Life Skills
