We had a year of celebration in 2006. Individually, we celebrated one another and our growing up as we kept honouring each another, reflecting on the way we do things and improving ourselves in teaching and learning.
As a school, we celebrated excellence in our pursuit. We saw improvements in our pupils' PSLE performance for almost every subject and the average
T-score was raised by 2 points.
In aesthetics, we achieved two Golds with Honours for Chinese Dance and Guzheng, two Golds for Chinese Orchestra and Malay Dance, a Silver for Choir and a Bronze for Indian Dance in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) last year. Moreover, our Chinese Orchestra was selected as one of the four schools to perform at the SYF Presentation Concert.
In Sports, our table-tennis junior boys clinched the 3 rd position in the East Zone Inter-School Championship and our table-tennis girl, Duan Lian, clinched the 2 nd position in the National Individual Championship.
Looking ahead, 2007 shall be a Year of Victory for Ngee Ann Primary!
There is no victory without battles. Everyone in the Ngee Ann family shall be courageous warriors in all the battles we face. The questions we require answers for are: What are these battles? Who are our enemies?
Our enemies are not out there. They are within us. They are weaknesses we must overcome. Know our enemies and fight the right battles.
Three important attitudes we must clothe ourselves with in order to have a year of victory:
Always be Thankful
We are always thankful for Ngee Ann Primary, for our families and our friends. We are excited about them. They are so special, so precious, and they have brought great joy to our hearts.
Always be Victorious
No matter how difficult situations may be, and how many discouraging remarks are thrown at us, we still believe we will achieve high targets. We will have victory because we keep doing our best, and we have the humility to learn and improve the way we do things.
Always be a Blessing to All
We give off fragrance to everyone around us when we live our lives with hope and enthusiasm.
Remember to put on these three attitudes in every aspect of our lives, may it be in our personal walk, in our family or in school, and we will have a Year of Victory in 2007. I have decided to do that. How about you? I hope your answer is a positive one. Let's journey on to victory together.
